Author and Speaker
Greetings!
My name is Nancy Jo Sullivan. I’m happy to meet you, if only on this roadway of the web. Over the last twenty years, I’ve authored a few books and articles, publishing with Random House-Multnomah, Loyola, Reader’s Digest, and The Huffington Post. These days, I speak regularly through the Metro Coalition of Grief in Minneapolis and often present at faith-based retreats.
Having raised three daughters, our family brood now includes four new grandbabies. On any given day, you will find me building Lego towers, gliding down slides, and singing endless verses of The Wheels on the Bus.
Our oldest daughter, Sarah, was born with Downs syndrome. Though her life was brief, just twenty-three years, she imparted unforgettable lessons of faith, hope and love. Through her, we came to know who God is and forever will be. God with us.
Born and raised in Minnesota, I love winter, snowshoeing, trail- hiking, lakeside bonfires, watching hockey games, and making tater-tot hotdish.
If you are interested in booking a presentation, please reach out to me.
Speaking Topics
- Living your Blest Life – In this upbeat and sensitive reflection, Nancy Jo will share the insights she gained while mothering a child with Downs syndrome. Audiences will consider the blessings hidden in ordinary moments.
- Mining the Treasures of Grief – Designed for grieving audiences, this talk will provide spiritual support to those who are experiencing a profound loss. While gleaning lessons from her own experience, Nancy Jo will help the bereaved unearth the buried treasures of grief.
- The Plans I Have for You – For most women, aging finds us surrendering the roles that once defined us. We ask: Who am I now? What is my purpose? What does the future hold? In this presentation, Nancy Jo will invite women to explore these questions in the context of faith, and to celebrate the divine plans that have yet to unfold.
- Becoming a Woman of Hope – In the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke, we hear the story of Mary and Elizabeth, two ordinary women who said yes to a divine plan that would change the world. Through their example, we will examine the meaning of hope and consider ways to experience it fully.
